Microsoft Learning Gateway Solutions

The Microsoft Learning Gateway is a Web-based collaboration, communications, and content delivery framework tailored for the education system. It enables teachers to manage their administrative workload, empowers students to learn at their own pace, and helps parents become more involved in their children's education.

The Microsoft Learning Gateway brings together a range of Microsoft server products to deliver a highly scalable Web-based Managed Learning Environment (MLE) and portal solution. Based on SharePoint products and technologies, the Learning Gateway delivers relevant information and services via user roles and organisation membership.

As part of the Learning Gateway solution, Microsoft has created a set of customisations to deliver rich education centric functionality on top of the standard SharePoint features. Part of the Learning Gateway development by Microsoft included the design and creation of Education-focused Web parts and utilities to integrate SharePoint Technologies/SharePoint Learning Kit (SLK), Exchange, and Live Communications Server.
