Building on a base of software discovery, the service can be tailored to include a number of key value added options:

Through our knowledge of all major vendor licensing models, Teksys is able to manage a wide range of software. Customers also have the choice of which software sets are included or excluded from their customised managed contract. Typically Teksys would manage Microsoft, Lotus/IBM, Citrix, Oracle, Symantec, McAfee, Novell and Adobe product sets but any number of other mainstream publishers’ products can be incorporated.  In-scope software product sets will be agreed and identified in your Managed SAM contract.

Discovery
Managed SAM includes the use of market-leading Centennial Discovery as the detection and reporting engine for a wide range of data including:  software installation, usage and location, plus detailed information about all hardware devices present on the network.

Analysis
The service includes full analysis of the array of inventory data and reports on the information specific to your requirement - enabling accurate assessment of the state of compliance and responses to the monthly consumption and procurement information required under the terms of most volume licensing agreements.

License Position Development & Maintenance
Once the discovery and analysis data has been compiled, a comparison is performed against vendor license reports and procurement data.  This creates a licence position baseline which is continually updated as part of the managed service.  The ongoing accuracy of this data means that the license position report for any in-scope software vendor’s products can be extracted and used for budgeting, contract negotiation, upgrade planning and project development.

Vendor Audit Response
In recent years, vendor initiated software audits have dramatically increased in number - these events require immediate action and are often extremely costly and disruptive to undertake.  If this option is included in your Managed SAM contract, Teksys will undertake all necessary discovery, analysis and reporting work required to fulfil the vendor's information request.  If the software audit is from one of the vendors not in-scope, Teksys is able to prepare the necessary vendor response for an additional fee and, as a Managed SAM customer; the normal service cost will be discounted by 30%.
