ISO Benchmarking
The ISO standard for Software Asset Management (SAM) has been published to establish a structured methodology for organisations to implement an integrated set of SAM processes.

ISO 19770 - The international standard has been developed to enable organisations to prove that they are performing SAM to a standard that satisfies corporate governance requirements and ensures effective support for IT Service Management overall. ISO/IEC 19770-1 is the result of close cooperation between Investors in Software (IiS), members of the standards community, the ITIL community, and the SAM community.

  • Highly structured and detailed framework for SAM
  • Meets a common certifiable standard
  • Has a self-assessment/certification process
  • Is endorsed by vendors
  • Defines the activities, not the processes, so it applies to all sizes of company
  • Complements ITIL, but ITIL is not a prerequisite
  • Vendor-independent so no additional risk is imposed

Our ISO Benchmarking Service is delivered through a modular four stage approach:

  • Workshop to obtain high level understanding of current operations
  • Detailed assessment of resources and processes
  • RAG report and practical recommendations for implementing change
  • Business process change and implementation consultancy

At the end of the process your organisation will be able to apply to one of the UKís certification bodies to achieve ISO accreditation.

The PPA workshop:
A half day event where Teksys will liaise with those responsible for the software lifecycle to redesign your software asset management working policies and processes.

The redesign of processes is completed with the aim of moving your organisation to Software Asset Management best practice

Requirements:

  • Access to your key software management stakeholders in the business.
  • Information about current software management practices.
  • Business strategy for software acquisition and management.

Deliverables:

  • A detailed written report containing recommendations for change and providing the mechanisms to maintain both license compliance and efficient procedures.
  • Management techniques which control installation of software.
  • Software procurement efficiencies which reduce software spend.
  • Process efficiencies which reduce ad-hoc administration and TCO.
  • A software control environment which adheres to your company's process requirements.
  • Internal marketing guidelines for cascading information to your users.

These bespoke workshops are high value events and are an excellent foundation for SAM implementation.
